Ralph Niran Porter

Ralph Niran Porter, the beloved son of Diane Arrington-Lawrence and the late Ralph Porter was born on July 2, 1972, in Baltimore, Maryland. On August 25, 2025, Ralph peacefully departed this life, surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the Johns Hopkins Hospital team. Ralph was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and was a faithful member of the New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown for over 30 years. Though he was non-verbal due to his diagnosis of Autism and cerebral palsy at birth, Ralph’s presence spoke volumes. He radiated a joy and light that filled every room, especially in his cherished seat on the last pew of the church. His life was a living testimony that worship transcends words. Ralph had a deep love for music that was nurtured by his “Bonus Dad,” James Lawrence. For nearly four decades, Ralph accompanied him to countless parties, social gathering, and community events, where the beats of music became Ralph’s heartbeat. That passion for life also carried him across the world—traveling with family and his beloved Aunt Jackie all over the world. He found simple joys in daily rituals—watching game shows before bed. His most recent birthday was a testament to the love that surrounded him, celebrated alongside his sister Brittney, brother-in-law Ricki, and their children. Everly and Langston. Affectionately crowned “Funcle,” Ralph was the fun yet gently uncle who brought comfort, laughter, and unforgettable memories. They adored him, taking tender care of Ralph by making sure he never lost his favorite stimming toys—a blue top and red straws. Under the guidance of their “Nana Diane, they cared for Ralph with love, joy, and pride. Though Ralph never spoke with words, his life spoke through love, faith, and joy. His quiet strength and radiant spirit taught everyone around him what it means to live fully, love deeply and embrace life’s blessings. We take comfort in knowing that when his earthly journey ended, he entered heavens gates. This is not a farewell, but a tender “see you later.” He is survived by his parents, James and Diana Lawrence, Sister Brittney Lawrence-Stephens, bother-in-law Ricki Stephens, Niece and Nephew Everly and Langston Stephens and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
