Charlene Bradley

Charlene Patricia Bradley peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 9, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was born on August 3, 1950, to the late Charles Walter and Marie Wilson, and was one of six children. Charlene was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Edmondson Senior High School in 1968. She continued her educational journey, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Teacher Education in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Baltimore in 2000. During her time at the University of Baltimore, Charlene received several awards recognizing her outstanding academic achievements. On February 2, 1968. Charlene was united in holy matrimony Bradley Sr., who preceded her in death just five short months ago. From this beautiful union came two children. Rashaun Yvette and Rudolph Edward. Together they shared 57 years of love, faith, grace, and forgiveness--a love supreme, complete. In 1969, Charlene began her professional career with the Baltimore News American Newspaper, where she worked full-time and earned several tri-state awards (Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania) for excellence in display advertising. After the closing of the News American, she continued her career with its competitor, The Baltimore Sun, where she again received commendations for her creativity and excellence in advertising content and display formats. Seeking growth and new opportunities, Charlene later joined the City of Baltimore Department of Law at City Hall. There, she held several positions, with her most rewarding role being Legal Assistant Il, where she supported five attorneys. Charlene dedicated many years of service to the city before retiring in August 2012. Charlene had a deep love for family and fellowship. She found great joy in hosting cookouts and organizing family reunions. Known for her amazing salmon cakes and potato salad, she loved cooking and feeding her family and dear friends. She also enjoyed road trips to Tappahannock and Alexandria, Virginia, to visit loved ones. Charlene found simple pleasures in watching her favorite game shows, Let's Make a Deal and Wheel of Fortune. She cherished quiet early mornings, spending time in prayer and communion with the Lord. A woman of unwavering faith, Charlene loved Christ deeply and dedicated her life to serving His church and His people. In her younger years, she attended Morning Star Baptist Church. In 1986, Charlene joined Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Bishop John Richard Bryant. In May 1991, she graduated from the Baltimore School of the Bible, earning a Church Ministry Preparation Certificate from the Evangelical Training Association. As her faith grew, she answered the call to ministry and enrolled in ministerial training classes at Bethel AME Church, under Frank Madison Reid III. In May 1991, she was licensed to preach under the auspices of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and after continued study and preparation, she was again licensed in May 1996 under the hand of Bishop Frederick Calhoun James. Charlene joined New Psalmist Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Walter Scott, Sr. in 2002 where she served faithfully until her health no longer allowed. Through her years of ministry, Charlene visited the sick and shut-in, administering communion, participating in community and city-wide outreach missions, teaching Bible study, discipleship, and marriage counseling, along with fulfilling many other pulpit responsibilities. "Well done, thy good and faithful servant." Charlene leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving children, RaShaun Yvette Bradley and Rudolph Edward Bradley Jr.; her sisters, Beverly Jean Wilson, Brenda Campbell, Yvonne Wilson, and Charretta Wilson; Brother Charles Wilson Jr, preceded in death, brothers-in-law, Randolph Bradley (Vanessa) and Tyrone Bradley; her sister-in-law, Nadine Bradley Griffin (Samuel); and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
