Sean Michael Vincent Whitmore

Sean Michael Vincent Whitmore was born on July 24, 1976, in Baltimore Maryland, to the parentage of Vincent Whitmore and Edith Aydlett-Whitmore. He transitioned from this life on February 14, 2022. Early Monday morning, God in His own way and for His own purpose called His child, from his labor to rest. Sean, a beloved son, brother, father, neighbor and friend will be remembered as an individual who dedicated his life to his family, and befriending others. According to family, “it’s believed that Sean could have made friends with a flea!” Actually, that’s just how friendly Sean was. He was always smiling or laughing, he loved his family and having a good time. Some of the pleasures of life that Sean enjoyed were: cooking/eating; traveling (Las Vegas); looking forward to family gatherings/outings: He was excited about the cross-country trip that he took to California with his aunt because he was able to visit places of interest that he read or heard about. He had a special relationship with his brother, Brandon, where they loved watching, sharing and discussing movies. Everyone will always remember that he bought love and humor to those who he touched along his life’s journey. During his early childhood years, Sean participated in a “Multi-Faith” experience: as a baby he was dedicated in the “Baptist faith” and a few weeks later he was baptized in the “Catholic faith.” After that, he received his first Holy Communion and was raised as a Catholic. During early childhood, Sean attended the Grace and St. Peters Episcopal Church School for four years (which included Pre-Kindergarten thru 2nd Grade). Amazingly while attending, as a child, he sang on the “men and boys choir” for the church. Sean’s educational years were adventurous and rewarding; he went to Roland Park Elementary/Middle School from grades three thru eight. He was paid to participate in an Infomercial for NASA. As a result, he became a member of the “Screen Actors Guild” [SAG]. In 1986, Sean became a member of the Baltimore City Swim Club (BCSC) and began swimming competitively throughout the state of Maryland, Washington D.C. and New York. Many of its competitive teams were astonished to see students of color with such great swimming skills. In 1992, he was a member of the BCSC Relay Team and won first place using the Butterfly stroke in the Maryland Junior Olympics in Harford County. In 1993, the team he coached won first place in the Municipal Swim Championship in Baltimore. Throughout his time with BCSC, he won many certificates, ribbons and trophies. Sean attended one of Baltimore’s most prestigious high schools often referred to as “The Castle on the Hill,” but better known to many as “City College.” He was a well-rounded student and successfully participated in various sporting events. He played baseball his freshman year and from 1990-1994 he was an active member of the “Swim Team.” Believe it or not, he learned to swim at the early age of “four.” His favorite swimming stroke was the “Butterfly” which earned him an athletic award. He took an active part in the modeling group, the school choir and other related activities. While attending Baltimore City College, Sean was in the Advanced Academic Program where he studied two foreign languages (Latin and German). His ability to speak German fluently afforded him a trip during his sophomore year to Germany for three weeks. His teacher was impressed with his ability and recommended the trip as a reward for him. He graduated from City but never really parted from it in his heart. As a matter of fact, he and some of his friends are known as: “The Class of ‘94 City Forever Alumni.” He’s leaving “a lot of love” to his best friends/former classmates that are still standing today: Robert Bagley, Lester Berry, P. David Bramble, Cinese A. Caldwell, Rodney Carmichael, Michael Johnson, Malcolm Victor, and Xavia Reed. After finishing high school, Sean attended Florida A &M University where he received Swim and Academic Scholarships. He was one of the Fortunate 400 students to be accepted in the FAMU School of Business and he served on the swim team for two plus years. His career experience started at the age of 14 when he volunteered as a Pool Attendant and progressed to the status of a Certified Life Guard who taught CPR and First Aide. He worked in the Business and Finance Industry where his favorite career focus was with T. Rowe Price. Unfortunately, due to health reasons he was no longer able to continue his career. Sean was formerly married to Sedaris Palmer, and out of this union, one son, Justin Sean Michael Whitmore was born. Sean Michael leaves to mourn, his loving parents, Vincent and Edith; brother, Brandon; children, Alexandria, K’La, Taylor, Justin and Jonathan; bonus children, Myil, Tomel, Jalani and Jeremiah; god-sister, Shani Spivey; godparents, Faye Marvin, Larry Alexander, and Monteece Jones; nephew, Peanut; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
