December 18, 1929 - January 8, 2021
Pearl Louise Snell was born December 8, 1929 to the late Percell Gaines and Leurine M. Haskins Davis in King William County, Virginia. She departed this life on Friday, January 8, 2021, due to complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. Louise, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at Saint Paul Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD at an early age. She later became a member of Genesis Bible Fellowship Church also in Baltimore under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Cockrell. Louise completed her education at Dunbar High School. She also graduated from the Hawaiian Beauty School in Washington D.C. for cosmetology. Her proudest moment was when she graduated from the Baltimore School of the Bible with her husband, Wilbert. She was a member of the Thomas A. Hairston 100% club. Louise was united in holy matrimony to Cpl. Wilbert N. Snell, Jr. on June 22, 1952, in Baltimore MD. Together they enjoyed 68 years of marriage! Out of this union they were blessed with six children. Louise was known for her culinary skills. She learned to cook at a very early age. She loved to read cookbooks to try out new recipes on her husband and family. From Baked Alaska, to Cantaloupe Pie, to Easter Pastel Cake, to delicious Pound Cake, and her amazing Chocolate and Vanilla Checkerboard Cake, Louise loved to share her baked goods with everyone, including Pastor Cockrell! Louise loved people and liked to strike up a conversation with everyone. She had an affectionate smile, a great sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. Louise leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband Wilbert N. Snell Jr.; three daughters, Lynette Brooks, Michele, Jacqueline; three sons, Wilbert III, Kenneth, and Brian; sons-in-law, Larry Brooks and Thomas R. Blake (preceded her in death); daughter-in-law, Cheryl; grandchildren, Christina, Antwarren (Shelita), Jordan, Laura, Jeffery, Chasidy, Bria, Camryn, Corey, and Natasha, great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brooke, Kingston, Noah and Natalia; brother, Edmond Davis (Juanita); sister, Yvonne Brown; sister-in-law, Annie Snell; brother-in-law, John T. Fields Sr.; faithful friend, Addie Zapata; devoted cousins, Howard Macon, Priscilla Kess and Louise George; special daughter Jacqueline Blake; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Louise was preceded in death by six of her brothers and four of her sisters.
