On Friday, September 18, 2020, at Seasons Hospice - Northwest Hospital, God who is the maker and Creator, whispered softly to George A. Jackson, "Come unto me and tale your rest." GEORGE A. JACKSON, son of the late John H. and Amanda Jackson, was born May 20, 1938 in Frederick, Maryland. At a young age he became a member of Payne Memorial AME Church, Baltimore, Maryland George was educated in the Frederick County School System. He worked at Bethlehem Steel, Sparrows Point as a crane operator and retired after 37 years of dedicated service. George was full of life and adventure. His presence brightened any room and warmed any atmosphere. He especially loved horse racing and traveled the country to attend many events. He enjoyed hosting many sporting events with family and friends, he loved making people happy. He had a passion for reading and debating, as well as a story teller. George was also a food connoisseur; he loved to cook. On January 1, 2006, George declared to love, honor and cherish Darlene McClain. That was the day he married his friend, partner and neighbor. They enjoyed many years of travel, fun and love, making memories that would last a lifetime. George was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Dominique Thornton, one daughter, Allyson Williams, and three siblings, bobby, Horace and Jr. He leaves cherished and fond memories to: his devoted wife, Darlene Jackson; daughter, Pamela Mone' (Edgar); four stepchildren, Cornell Bell Jr., Sharon Williams, Tasha Galloway and Dinisha Fenner; three grandchildren, Tyshawn and Tyanna Williams, and E.J. Mone'; nineteen great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Mattie Hall and Arnita Snowden; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Jackson, Lillian Jackson and Barbara White (Harry); two lifelong friends (70+years) Jimmy Edgerton, Thomas Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
