Evelyn Elaine Walls

To God be the glory for the great things He has done in the life of Evelyn Elaine Walls. EVELYN ELAINE WALLS, daughter of the late Edna Sullivan Lark and Wiley Lark, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 16, 1950. From this union, she was one of seven children. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 26, 2024, with her immediate family by her side. Evelyn married Rodney Walls in 1976 and from that union one child was born, Aaron Walls. Evelyn graduated from Forest Park High School and later continued her undergraduate and graduate studies at Coppin State University. Evelyn resided at 1247 Gleneagle Road for over 30 plus years along with her late husband Rodney Walls. Evelyn was affectionately known to many as, “Elaine”. Evelyn worked for Baltimore City Public Schools for 48 years. While working in Baltimore City she became teacher of the year in 1999 after 23 years of working in the classroom at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle Technology Magnet School. Evelyn’s colleagues described her as hard-working, dedicated, creative, encouraging, passionate, supportive, energetic, and a leader. Evelyn went out of her way to assist and support her colleagues as much as she could even on her days off, while vacationing, or spending time with her family. Evelyn also worked at Digital Harbor High School for several years. However, before she retired in 2023 Evelyn had the pleasure of serving the youth of Baltimore City as a teacher for Home and Hospital. Evelyn strongly believed in education and a strong work ethic. Evelyn loved traveling, spending time with family, attending church, watching the Ravens play, going to the movies, attending family gatherings, going to plays, shopping online, serving the Lord, listening to gospel music, eating delicious food, and learning new things on the computer. Everyone that knew her, knew that Technology and Science was her” Jam” but what she Loved most of all was attending church and worshiping the Lord with her beloved husband, Rodney. Evelyn loved the Lord, and believed in the power of prayer, and she loved to sing God’s praises even during her illness. Evelyn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She joined Faith Tabernacle where she served as a faithful member. Faith Tabernacle is where she met her late husband, Rodney Walls. Rodney played the drums, and Evelyn sang in the choir. After serving and being a faithful member at Faith Tabernacle, she and her husband later joined Word and Faith Fellowship where she and her husband were also faithful servants for several years. They both enjoyed fellowshipping with the members, actively participating in church events, and studying the word of God until they transitioned to Word and Faith Church. There they were able to meet a variety of members from different cultures and spread the Love of God through studying the bible, singing, and worshiping. Evelyn wanted nothing more than to be a good wife to her husband, loving mother to her son, and doting grandmother to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Rest in peace our sweet angel. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Rodney Walls, who preceded her in death; one son, Aaron Walls; one grandson, Adam Walls; one granddaughter, Aarynn Walls; her parents, Edna Sullivan Lark and Wiley Lark, who preceded her in death; one sister, Edna Heath; two brothers, Robert Sullivan and Donald Sullivan, who preceded her in death; five sisters-in-law, Carolyn Gadson, Rosalyn Dopson, Brenda Locust, Felesa Walls, and Phyllis Thomas, who preceded her in death; four brothers-in-law, Michael Dopson, Sylvester Gadson, George Thomas Sr., and Ernest Walls and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
