Clinton Simons Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clinton Simons, son of the late Ernest and Tressie Simons, was born March 16, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life early Friday morning, May 1, 2020. As a child Clinton was baptized at Sweet Hope Baptist Church and sang solos as part of the junior choir. At the age of 35 he received Jesus Christ as his Savior, and became a member of Truth and Love Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, serving as an usher as part of the Hospitality Ministry. As a little boy he was very free hearted; and would even give you the shirt off his back. One day while walking down town with his father, he saw a blind man and reached in his pocket and gave the gentle his small allowance. He asked his father if that man would ever have a wife, to which his father replied, “Son there is someone for everyone.” Later in life Clinton came to realize that to be a true statement. Clinton loved people, loved to talk (taking after his father – nickname Radio), play trivia and most important to tell jokes and play cards. If he got your attention for one joke be sure he would tell you at least three more, plus ask a trivia question or two. He enjoyed taking road trips with his wife. The destination did not matter as long as he could take the car ride. He was a man of faith and a spiritual intercessor. In spite of his own health challenges, he did not cease to pray for many others. Nor did he allow these challenges to depress him or cause him anguish, but simply lifted his heart and hands up in faith unto his heavenly Father. He leaves to mourn: his wife of 45+ years, Tracy Simons; two sisters, Ms. Tressie Ardena Gregory, Mrs. Vivian Paysour (Ronald); two brother in laws, Alvin Thompson (Carole), Norris Commodore (Theresa), one sister in law, Mrs. Iris S. Person (Dale), an adopted brother, Anthony Holt; nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
