Yudith Josefina Moore-Glenn

YUDITH JOSEFINA MOORE-GLENN, affectionately known as “Angela” and “Mama Yudi” to family and friends, was born on January 22, 1956, in Venezuela to the late Oliver Chase (Clarita Chase) and Celina Guerrero (Stephen Guerrero). She was deeply devoted to her family, her church, her grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Snowy. Always the first to lend a hand, she never hesitated to support a family member or friend in need. Yudith was called home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Northwest Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, after a courageous health battle. God fulfilled His promise—no more pain, no more suffering, no more sorrow. He restored her mind and body, granting her perfect peace and everlasting joy. Though we can no longer see her face or hear her voice, we find comfort in knowing: GOD HAS YOU. With her race complete, Yudith--a strong and steadfast fighter—went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a child, Yudith excelled in school and was always a great help to her family. She attended Arima Girls’ R.C. School during her early years. After completing primary school, she moved to Venezuela to continue her education. While working at British Airways in Venezuela, she met the late Andrew Whitley Moore From that union, she was blessed with two daughters: Melissa Andrea Moore-Gilmore and Stacey Marisela Varr. During that time, she supported fellow embassy wives, formed lasting friendships, and traveled the world. After relocating to the United States, Yudith began a new chapter by opening an in-home daycare Baltimore, Maryland. Her love for children and her passion for nurturing others made her daycare a special place in the community. She later started a new career with Air Jamaica, where she often took her daughters on trips to Jamaica to bond, create memories, and enjoy time together. Yudith eventually pursued her dream of working in law enforcement and began a fulfilling career with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, where she served faithfully for over 30 years. She received numerous awards, built lifelong friendships, and was widely admired for her dedication and excellence. Her work ethic, determination, and kindness became a legacy she would pass on to her children and grandchildren. During her time at U.S. Customs, Yudith met the love of her life, John Glenn. Together, they created a beautiful, blended family with daughters Melissa and Stacey, their cherished grandchildren—Gregory Anthony Gilmore III, Ayden Darlingston Varr, Ava-Marie Olivia Varr, and Graceson Anointed Gilmore—their beloved dog Snowy, and a host of godchildren. She took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren and being present for every important moment in their lives. Yudith loved traveling to Trinidad, knitting, spending time with family, managing a local soccer team, supporting Caribbean radio stations, and shopping—especially for shoes. Her love for fashion earned her the nickname Imelda Marcos due to her impressive high-heel collection. Yudith’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. In 2003, she made the life-changing decision to dedicate her life to the Lord, further deepening her commitment to Christ. She served as Senior Deacon of To God Be The Glory Church of Worship International and was a devoted member for 22 years until her call Home to the Lord. A true pillar of the church, she was also a trustee and advisor. She had an evangelistic spirit and was known for introducing many friends and family to Christ—including sharing her faith with her grandchildren, whom she prayed over faithfully. She mentored countless young women in the church and found joy in pouring into the next generation. She joyfully served in many church ministries: God’s Angeltoes of Wisdom Liturgical Dance Ministry, God’s Kingdom Builder’s Choir, and the Hospitality Ministry. On the final Sunday of her life, she came to church and worshiped, danced, and quoted scripture—her faith unwavering and radiant until the very end. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, John Edward Glenn; daughters Melissa Andrea Gilmore (Pastor Gregory Jr.) and Stacey Marisela Varr (Rev. Darlingston); grandchildren Gregory Anthony Gilmore III, Ayden Darlingston Varr, Ava-Marie Olivia Varr, and Graceson Anointed Gilmore; stepmother Clarita Chase; godmother Verna; siblings Zilla Thomas, Gary Guerrero, Sherry Chase-Jackson, and Hayden Guerrero (Nikeisha); and sisters-of-the-heart Dr. Jacqueline Richards, MD, and C.A. Dr. Deborah O. Gilmore, Ph.D. (Bishop Dr. Gregory Sr). She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Daryl, Devan, Darren, Tricia, Keagon, Kerron, Janae, Bridget (Ariel), and Jordan; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. She is also lovingly remembered by her trusted friends and caretakers: Evang. Robin Adams, Sis. Joyce Daniel, Admin. Pastor Patricia Duffie, Deacon Roslyn Wilson and Min. Gladys Taylor, whose faithful care prayers, and companionship brought immense comfort to her and her family. She is preceded in death by her mother Celina Guerrero, father Oliver Chase, stepfather Stephen Guerrero, grandmother Irene Thomas, step-grandmother Carolina Diaz, and brothers Conrad and Derek.
