Shannon Holmes

Shannon Louise Holmes chose Ernest Clifton Holmes and Rachel Barbara Smith Holmes in August 1975 to be her parents. They were attending the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church Association’s (UHSCA) August Convention held in New York City. After six years of wanting a child, this beautiful spirit picked them. She was born May 14, 1976 at 9:35 PM in Pennsylvania Hospital Philadelphia, PA. She was the first girl child for Ernest and the first child for Rachel. Until the day of her departure (December 28, 2021) she gave love and appreciation to all who knew her. Shannon’s primary years of schooling were always with Philadelphia’s most prestigious and nationally ranked schools: New Path Montessori Preschool, Anna Blackston Day Elementary School, Julia Reynolds Masterman Magnet School and Central High School. She earned a full scholarship to Morgan State University, in 1994, while there began a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Alpha Delta Chapter. She graduated from Morgan State University, in May 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. In May 2008 she graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Cum Laude, member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. While working at St. Agnes Medical Center in Philadelphia PA. Shannon had the privilege to be selected from hundreds of applicants to represent St. Agnes Medical Center on a global health mission to Haiti in June 2002. She had many achievements in her short life. Always concerned and caring for those she loved; she was never too busy for family or friends. Her caring spirit lead her to the medical field of study. She was the resident medical advisor, always researching and looking for holistic solutions for our betterment. She would first try the holistic solutions, then share it with others. As a child she was spiritually in tune with nature and it’s finer forces. She looked at all crawling creatures as God’s needed creations, reluctant to kill them. She stopped eating meat during the UHSCA’s 40 day Fast in the nineties . Shannon studied Astrology to better understand her relationship as a Taurus to others. She often brought attention to where the planets were and how we were affected by them. Shannon kept us aware of our thoughts and actions, pointing out when we were troubled, that it was of our own creation. She stated that having to speak on the Fifth Sunday gave her the comfort of public speaking. She praised the Association for giving her the understanding of serving God in Spirit and in Truth. She took voice lessons and became everyones song bird. Her dream came true, when the J West Band of Philadelphia PA asked her to join them as one of their vocalist. Following in her Grandfather and Father’s footsteps she mastered cake baking; her cakes would melt in your mouth. She would pray and burn a candle while preparing her cakes, infusing her spiritual self into the process. Just before her transition she obtain her LLC under the name of “ShaLou’s Cakes by the Pound”. She was always looking for ways to improve herself. She would share her knowledge so that others could benefit. Shannon was a member of the UHSCA, christened by The Right Rev. Alfred Bailey in 1976. Served on the Altar Board until the age of 14, and she graduated from the Hagar’s School of Mediumship and Psychology, excelling to the Adept Mastery Classes. She was a Worthy Knight serving for years under Exalted Knight Ernest Holmes as his Right Armor Bearer. Recently she was appointed Supreme Message Bearer for Sunday School and Hagar’s Young People Union (HYPU) Conventions. She was an active member in Maryland Temple No 1 performing duties as Corresponding Secretary, President of Medium League, Deaconess Board and Assistant Mediumship Instructress. Shannon is preceded by her spiritual guides : Grandparents, Mme. Emma I. Smith, William J. Smith, Emma Boggs Holmes and Sidney Shannon; Brother, Ernest C. Holmes Jr.; Uncles, Melvin Holmes (Jane) and William A. Smith. After her transition she lead her father to the light Supreme Prince II Ernest Clifton Holmes. To cherish her spirit in our minds and souls forever she leaves on this earthly plane, Mother, Princess Rachel Holmes De Four; Brothers, Professor Clifton Smith Holmes (Deja) and Strawn Holmes (Dutta); Aunts, Gloria Braxton and Valedo Chapple; Uncle, Professor Clarence Smith; Nephews, Brother Clifton Smith Holmes II, Melchezedek Holmes, and Mansa-Mekonnen Holmes; Nieces, MiJoi Holmes, Makda Holmes, Maya Holmes and Mekhal Holmes; Special Friend, Denzel Johnson; Sister in Christ, St. Tonya Woods, Childhood Friend, Norman Roberts; Godson, Ahmad Grant; God Parents , Mme.
