Louis E. Law

Louis Edward Law Sr., Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 22 of 1950, Louis Edward Law, Sr. was one of two sons to Mary Elizabeth Cater and Charles Roy Law and brother to Charles Cater Law. He attended The Park School of Baltimore during his high school years where he was highly involved in student government, lacrosse, soccer, basketball and many other teams and organizations. He was also a graduate of American University. As an undergraduate, he studied Speech and Theatre Arts which led him into careers as a broadcaster, teacher, and life insurance salesman. He started his career at WCAU radio in Philadelphia, PA, where he met Sherry Theresa Saddler and married her on June 29, 1974. They relocated to the DC area for a career opportunity at WMAL Radio and then Mutual Black Network. His acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ dedicated him to the Adventist Church to which he remained an active and loved Elder at Seabrook SDA Church. His Contributions to the SDA community were frequently seen through his efforts as a sabbath school teacher, music committee member, Deacon, and spiritual advisor. Affectionately known as Lou, his surrounding community outside of the church witnessed his success as a Boys and Girls Club basketball coach and substitute teacher for the Prince Georges County School system. He was co-owner of Capital Financial Insurance along with Art Lyons and was a highly respected employee with New York Life Insurance to which his career spanned over 30 years. Lou was also an extremely talented singer and was admired throughout the Baltimore Doo Wop scene as apart of Gumption Records and The Bleu Lights. He was a dedicated husband and father of four. His memory lives on through his partner Sherry Theresa Saddler and his children, Kimberly Michelle Law-Dowdie, Louis Edward Law, Jr., Christopher Philip Law, and Jennifer Marie Law-Wade. He is survived by his grandchildren Kendall Dowdie, Mason Dowdie, Jasmine Law, Nyla Law, Nia Law, Logan Wade, and Tyson Wade. He is also remembered through his older brother Charles Cater Law.
