He departed this life on 24 September 2023 at Zukeran, Kitanakagusuku, Japan leaving his loving family and a host of friends. Izaiah had a way of brightening. any room he entered. He had a warm smile and captivating charm. His undeniable charm left an impression on all whom had a privilege to meet him. He is well known for his strong moral convictions. He was laid back and easygoing, which allowed him to make friends wherever he went. He had a lasting friendship among a group of friends that he would continue to meet up with when he came back to Maryland or New Jersey. While on Military Leave, he would meet his friends for a meal, to play video games or play basketball. His dream was to play in the NFL one day and own a business. He also recently converted to Islam. Izaiah received his education in three (3) different states as an Army dependent. He attended elementary school in Lawton, Oklahoma, middle school in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and high school in Edgewood, Maryland. He was an outstanding athlete - participating in football, basketball, wrestling, and track. In football, he played three (3) positions in high school - Wide Receiver, Corner Back, and Running Back wearing number 45 on his jersey. He participated in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Football Combine. In May 2013, he and his 4 x 200 relay team set a new Harford County Record. He also participated in the 3A State Championship, placing 3rd in both the 110 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles. He graduated Edgewood High School in June 2014. On 28 March 2017, he enlisted in the Army. He served in the United States Army as a Petroleum Supply Specialist reaching the rank of E4 – Specialist. His 1st duty station was Fort Bragg (now Fort Liberty), North Carolina serving with the 82nd Airborne. His 2nd Duty Station was Camp Humphreys, South Korea serving with the 2nd Infantry Division. His final duty station was Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, where he was assigned to the 1-1 Air Defense Artillery Battalion. While in Japan, his inner circle included other military service members (Marines, Airmen, and Sailors). He received the following military awards: three (3) Army Commendation Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Badge, and Certificate of Achievement. Cherishing His Memory… Izaiah leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Al’Velus A. Sneed (Ruanda) and Teresa Sneed; two sisters, Velquita Monique Sneed and Tyrisha Chante Sneed; one niece, Malani Zoelle Veney-Sneed; two nephews, Jaxson Izaiah Veney-Sneed and Mathieu Jeremiah Veney-Sneed. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as many friends from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Harford County, Maryland (Edgewood, Abingdon, and Aberdeen), Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and Okinawa, Japan. Those Gone Before… Izaiah is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents – Alfred B. Sneed (Grandfather) and Annie Baldwin (Grandmother), Maternal Grandparents – Willie Gilmore Jr. (Grandfather) and Esther Bea Gilmore (Grandmother).
